DIVIDE
A PLAY WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY JOEL CRICHTON
.
On March 22nd, Joel Crichton (actor/writer/composer/singer/songwriter and RDC alumnus) will be premiering his new solo
piece Divide at the Nickel Studio as part of Ignition Theatre’s 2011/2012 Theatre Season. Joel is well known to Red Deer
audiences from past Ignition Theatre productions including Year After Year; The Drawer Boy; and Death: LIVE!
and El Dorado, both of which he also created.

In the last year, Joel has walked over one thousand miles, through rainforest, mountains, and desert. A month at sea aboard a
tallship took him another thousand, before being blown off course for an additional thousand. Divide is partly autobiographical,
partly science-fiction, and partly philosophy, infused with music, spoken-word poetry and rap. Directed by the internationally
acclaimed Beau Coleman, Joel is very happy to be returning to his second home, Red Deer, to premiere this very
personal piece about adventure, responsibility, and finding your destiny.

Audience Advisories: Coarse language, Religious Discourse, Beatboxing
